Performance
Making a successful gaming-related app on the blockchain involves a lot of challenges. Firebird will be a powerful tool to address those issues. So what problems can Firebird solve?
Gamers hate game lags and network congestion. Unfortunately, this sometimes happens to popular games that run on Ethereum. This blockchain is notorious for its scalability issues, low throughput (only 13-15 transactions per second), and high transaction costs. These disadvantages make Ethereum unsuitable for large-scale use.
One of the key challenges that the Firebird team has identified and taken into account while designing and developing is the performance of the blockchain. In particular, blockchain games are facing scalability issues and unreasonable transaction fees. The high gas fees may disappoint gamers as they are constantly trading game items, aka NFTs. Besides, the transaction volume in games is significantly higher than DeFiβs for widely acceptable full-scale blockchain games; therefore, the blockchain needs to be designed to withstand this.
